Sheryll Mae Grace-Fronted FREEHAND Band At SV Brewery Wed, Feb 10: Harmonic Convergence

Local band fave, FREEHAND, performs again at Hailey's Sun Valley Brewery Restaurant & Bar this Wednesday (Feb. 10), from 7-10pm or so. FREEHAND recently performed at the SV Brewery to a very appreciative (and dance-prone) audience at the acclaimed Hailey eatery after stomach flu forced scheduled band, FourStroke Bus, to bow out at the last minute from their scheduled Jan. 29th show, and this wonderfully-pulsing, always-entertaining and otherwise verrry likable band graciously volunteered to sub for them.

Fronted by acclaimed local lead singer-songwriter-guitarists -- and teachers for Mitzi Mecham's Music n' Me schools, at both their Ketchum and Hailey facilities (http://www.notesmusicnme.com) -- Sheryll Mae Grace (http://www.myspace.com/sheryllmaegrace)
and Aaron Pugh
( http://www.myspace.com/aaronjamesmakesmusic ), this increasingly-popular band, which also includes Ray Brown (bass) and Joel Adams (drums), (http://myspace.com/musicbyfreehand), has appeared at numerous  venues throughout the Wood River Valley, including Papa Hemi's Hideaway, The Brickhouse, and CIRO Market's Wine Lounge.

Although FREEHAND plays mostly original compositions -- many of them songs that Grace wrote and used to perform only as a solo singer-guitarist here in the Valley (including at our local Rocky Mountain and Big Wood folk festivals) -- the band also plays a number of classic covers, including ones from Johnny Cash ("Folsom Blues," "Ring of Fire"), David Gilmour ("Wish You Were Here"), The Beatles ("Let It Be," "Little Help from My Friends"), Patsy Cline ("Crazy"), John Mayer ("Gravity"), and Bill Withers ("Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone)".

In 2009, Grace won 2nd Place in an international, online-only contest for up-and-coming musicians sponsored by http://www.yobi.tv that involved tens of thousands of video submissions from all over the world (Grace was eventually bested by a musician in Australia after a very close 40-week voting period race, but Grace is currently entered in the 2010 yobi.tv contest, where she is expected to once again be a very strong contender there).

Hailey's Sun Valley Brewery Restaurant & Bar is located at 202 N. Main Street. Call 788-0805 for more info about the Wed. Feb. 10 FREEHAND concert.
