Blues singer Catherine Russell at Boiler Room, too, tonight???/Great show Friday there!!!

Well rumors are flying and fast furiously that New York-based blues-jazz singer Catherine Russell ( www.catherinerussell.net AND www.myspace.com/catrussell ) -- who'll be singing tonight at the nexStage Theatre from 7:30pm-9pm or so (726-9491/ www.sunvalleycenter.org for tickets), performing a wonderful array of American Songbook classics from Pearl Bailey, Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Hoagy Carmichael, and many others -- may ALSO drop by Sun Valley's Boiler Room at some point tonight as well ... for a little impromptu blues/jazz jam session with fellow New York-based blues musicians Bill Sims, Jr, Adam Levy, Andy Hess, Tony Mason and, of course, our own stellar keys master, Paul Tillotson (who moved to New York in 1989 and who spends more than half the year there as a highly sought after musician).

Friday's blues-music show there at The Boiler Room, which began around 9:30pm and lasted until 12:45am or so, was absolutely packed -- someone I talked with there last night joked that they'd need to start applying lubricants to patrons outside before they could possibly to fit any MORE people into the Boiler Room!!! (LOL) -- although by the time these incredible New York-area blues musicians were starting their second set (around 11:30pm), enough of the audience had left the Boiler Room (out of sheer exhaustion, not disenchantment, however) the management there managed to move enough vacated tables and chairs in front of the stage out of the way, so Boiler Room patrons could have somewhere else to dance (beside that small area by the Boiler Room's bathrooms, which is the only place where people had room to dance there during the first set last night!!! (LOL)

Well ... whether acclaimed jazz-blues singer Catherine Russell does make an appearance tonight at the Boiler Room -- and/or decides to actually take to the stage there and show off her amazing vocals as well -- the Saturday blues show tonight will surely be every bit as seriously kick-ass incredible as last night's Friday show was (and then some)!!!!
