Winter Storm Watch for Sun Valley area through Tuesday - 14" so far

Update: There's 14" of fresh powder on Baldy so far. More on the way.

As much as a foot or two of snow is expected above 6500 feet for the Big And Little Wood River Region. The National Weather Service In Pocatello Has Issued A Winter Storm Watch For Heavy Snow And Wind Above 6500 Feet...Which Is In Effect From Monday Morning Through Tuesday Afternoon.

• Snow Accumulations: 1 To 2 Feet

• Elevation: Above 6500 Feet.

• Timing: Monday Morning Through Tuesday Afternoon

• Locations Include: Galena Summit...Sun Valley

• Winds: Sustained South To Southwest Winds 10 To 20 Mph...With Ridgetop Winds In Excess Of 30 Mph At Times

• Impacts: Heavy Wet Snow And Strong Winds Will Create Hazardous Conditions For Those Traveling Over The Passes...As Well As Anyone Who Might Be Out In The Backcountry Doing Various Activities

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
