Papa Hemi's Hideaway will have a last minute change of performer for Friday, April 16th, 2010 - The Hokum Hi-Flyers will be performing their own brand of old-time Appalachian mountain music from 6:30-9:30pm. This newly formed band is comprised of stellar musicians who have lead bands and the music scene in Boise for years - a 4-5 piece acoustic group that includes fiddle, guitar, bass, banjo, and harmonica. Friday night at Papa Hemi's is their debut performance in the Wood River Valley.... Don't miss it!
From Boise, Idaho, the Hokum Hi-Flyers play Appalachian old-time mountain music, as well as other forms of unplugged 1920s/30s American roots music (Cajun, swing, traditional country). High-energy fiddle tunes will get you on your feet and hollerin' at the rafters. They're an unplugged, all-natural, free-range band, and they play these instruments: fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin, harmonica, and upright bass. Come chase away recession-era blues at their monthly concerts and square dances at the Linen Building in downtown Boise (1402 W. Grove St.). Of course, you will also find them camped out and jamming until the wee hours at the Weiser Fiddle Festival every June. They serve up hokum and we serve it hot!
Papa Hemi's Hideaway serves hand-made seasonal Idaho-style farm-to-table dining options that range from soul-warming comfort food to rustic fine dining.
