Kiki Tidwell Selected For Kauffman Fellows Program

Northwest Energy Angels, the Pacific Northwest's only angel group focused exclusively on providing early-stage capital to cleantech entrepreneurs, is pleased to announce that the Kauffman Fellows Program has selected member and board director Kiki Tidwell as a Fellow. Tidwell is one of the few angel investors to be selected for this prestigious venture capital fellowship. Tidwell joins 31 other fellows for Class 15.

Based in Palo Alto, California, the Kauffman Fellows Program is administered by the Center for Venture Education, a 501(c)(3) post-graduate educational institution dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship throughout society. The mission of the Kauffman Fellows Program is to identify, develop and network emerging global leaders in early-stage venture finance. Working closely with a venture capital firm, each Kauffman Fellow engages in a practical, 24-month learning experience including professional coaching, mentoring by senior partners and triennial sessions of industry and leadership curriculum.

"It's an honor to be chosen as a Kauffman Fellow," said Kiki Tidwell.  "In making this selection, the Kauffman Fellows Program is recognizing the entrepreneurial talent of angel investors who can contribute to the success of the venture ecosystem. As angel investing becomes more disciplined in order to achieve venture capital-like returns, additional training and education is essential."

"Kiki is a great fit for the Kauffman Fellows Program and I am delighted to work with her over the two year program as one of her mentors," said Byron McCann, Co-chair of Northwest Energy Angels, Venture Partner of Prism Capital, and Managing Director of Ascent Partners Group. "As an experienced investor, Kiki can provide the strategic advice, coaching and networking assistance needed to help entrepreneurs succeed. She also brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the cleantech industry, offering a different perspective to investing along with a keen ability to rapidly learn about new technologies, business models, and opportunities."
