Good Ju-Ju

By John Pluntze

Coming on the heels of last weekend's extremely successful and well-attended second annual "Feastival" two-day eco-friendly festival at BaseCamp, another environment-oriented, music-driven two-day festival is happening this coming weekend, September 25th and 26th, at Thousand Springs (near Twin Falls).

The 17th annual Thousand Springs Festival ( http://www.thousandspringsfestival.org ), which will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday, has prided itself since its inception on being a terrific and eclectic showcase not only for various environmental and historical exhibitions from nearby regions (Hagerman, Gooding, Jerome, Bliss, etc), but also for being a terrific and eclectic showcase for various musicians of one sort or another as well -- and this year's lineup is no exception!!

The featured performers include Wood River Valley faves Sheryll Mae Grace ( www.myspace.com/sheryllmaegrace and http://yobi.tv/yobising/semifinalists/view/452 ), and Good Ju-Ju (Julia Abrahms, Julie Konton and Sylvia Green) as well as Idaho faves Mike Bush ( www.mikebushmusic.com ), Shakin' Not Stirred ( www.shakintheband.com ), Red & Gray ( www.cunninghamsbands.com/RedandGray.html ), The Jacks ( www.myspace.com/thejacksband2009 ), The Heard ( www.theheard.com ), Gayle Chapman and Sandy Sanford ( www.myspace.com/gaylechapman ), The Great Riff All-Stars, the Tony Bowler Group (featuring Emily O'Connor), Keaton & Carter Wilson, and the Bitterbrush Blues Band.
