Hailey, Idaho, October 21, 2010 — The Advocates’ Fashion Show features a red-carpet caliber line-up of unique fashion finds from The Attic, redesigned fashions, thrift shopping know how, prizes and more. The Oct. 23 Fashion Show begins at 6:00 p.m. at nexStage Theatre, Ketchum, and is part of The Advocates for Survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault’s (www.theadvocates-aplacetogo.org) October focus on Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

“The Advocates’ Attic Fashion Redesign Contest and Fashion Show build awareness of youth education programs on healthy relationships and the prevention of domestic and dating violence,” said Executive Director Tricia Swartling. “Our last Fashion Show sold out and we have added quite a few fun factors to this year’s show. We are fortunate to have a diverse mix of talented fashion enthusiasts and local and national experts, such as Cameron Silver, willing to share their ideas and time to support The Advocates.”

Special Guest Judge and Commentator: Cameron Silver, vintage couture expert and owner of DECADES, boutiques in Los Angeles and London. Silver was named one of Time magazine’s “25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion” in 2002 and frequently influences the styling of Hollywood celebrities on the red carpet. He will speak on trends in fashion and tips for savvy thrift shopping and select the winners in each of the four fashion categories – clothing and accessories for youth, age 18 and under and adult, age 19 and over.

Chairperson, The Advocates’ Attic Fashion Redesign Contest and Fashion Show: Pattie Wells, a veteran hairstylist at Tru Spa and the owner of A:nu boutique. A:nu features 100 percent recycled and reconstructed cashmere accessories created by Pattie.

Emcee: Denise Simone, Core Company Artist, Company of Fools.

Local Judges: Liz Brown, L’Anne Gilman and Zoey Pierce. Our team of local judges will select the top 20 designs to be featured on the catwalk.

Red Carpet Sponsors: Cornerstone Bar and Grill, Peggy Elliott Goldwyn.

Cornerstone Bar and Grill will generously donate 10 percent of total sales on Oct. 23 to The Advocates.

The Fashion Show’s unique fashion finds from The Attic and redesign contest top 20 will be modeled on the catwalk and for sale after the show. The evening includes a raffle, the song “Up to the Mountain” performed by Jenny Blomquist, appetizers and refreshments.
