Annual Rail Jam Set to Rock Downtown

[Sun Valley, Idaho] Back for its second year, the 511 Downtown Rail Jam, held February 26 from 7-10pm will showcase local and traveling skiers and snowboarders on an actual street rail and a new feature created by Sun Valley Resort’s Terrain Park Crew. The downtown location, at 511 Leadville Avenue in Ketchum, means there is no need for spectators or participants to purchase lift tickets and admission to the event is free.
$1000 in prize money will be awarded, as well as bragging rights. Spectators will enjoy music by DJ Train, food, libations and fire pits, in addition to the awesome shred spectacle. Other prizes are also up for grabs.
Registration will be at 6:30pm at the 511 Building, on 6th and Leadville, the day of the Rail Jam. The competition entry is $10 and all participants must sign a liability release or parental consent form for competitors under 18. The $10 entry fee benefits the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation. Participants can learn more by contacting Andy Gilbert with the SVSEF at andy@svsef.org.
Event sponsors include Cox Communications, Smith Optics, Sun Valley Company, Board Bin, Sturtevants, SVSEF, Whiskey Jacques, Sun Valley Chamber of Commerce, City of Ketchum, and Alpinfoto Photography.
