Winter Weather Advisory in Effect from 6PM Tonight to 6PM Monday

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow which is in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM MDT Monday. \

* Snow Accumulations: 4 to 10 inches with the highest amounts at or above 6500 feet.

* Timing: Snow will begin tonight and continue through Monday afternoon. Lower elevations will likely see a mix during the afternoon.

* Locations Include: Arco, Mackay, Craters of the Moon, Hailey, Ketchum, Sun Valley, Bellevue, Galena Summit, Smiley Creek Lodge, Copper Basin and Edie Ranch.

* Winds: South to southeast 10 to 20 mph. Speeds in the mountains will reach 20 to 25 mph and locally higher.

* Impacts: Snow, moderate to locally heavy at times along with gusty winds will produce low visibility and hazardous conditions especially in the mountains. In lower elevations slushy conditions will also produce hazardous driving conditions at times.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
