Access Sun Valley Card Launches new Refer A Friend Promotion and Adds More Business Deals

 Fly Sun Valley Alliance (FSVA) has launched a new Refer A Friend promotion and added new business deals to its ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD, a valley-wide discount card with exclusive discounts on Alaska Airlines flights and deals at over 85 local participating businesses.  Sales from the purchase of the ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD support FSVA’s efforts to improve air and ground service access to the Sun Valley.

 Refer A Friend Promotion

Atkinsons’ Markets has joined the ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD program and is sponsoring the new Refer A Friend promotion by offering a $50 gift card to any current Card holder who refers a friend to purchase the ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD, and the referred friend also receives a $25 gift card. 

 “We strongly believe in the efforts of Fly Sun Valley Alliance to improve our air service access to Sun Valley and wanted to show our support for this innovative fundraising program,” remarked Chip Atkinson, co-owner of Atkinsons’ Markets.  “The gift cards are good at any of our three stores in Ketchum, Hailey and Bellevue, and we are proud to continue our long standing tradition of community support by sponsoring the ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD Refer A Friend promotion. We encourage the entire local business community to get behind this effort because improved access is one of the most important keys to our valley’s future economic growth.”

 New Business and Event Deals

A number of new businesses and events have also recently joined the ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD program offering a variety of excellent deals with great savings for Card holders:

  • The Board Bin:  20% off Skullcandy headphones and GoPro video cameras
  • Bavarian Soul: 10% off all active lifestyle clothing & accessories for men & women
  • Fireplaces, Etc:  10% off all retail purchases of fireplaces, stoves, outdoor furniture and more
  • Western States Geothermal:  $10 off hourly rate for HVAC, plumbing and electrical services and a FREE residential basic energy savings analysis
  • Tullys Coffee:  Free upgrade on any drink

Events

  • Sun Valley Harvest Festival:  15% off purchase of up to 2 All-Access Festival passes if purchased by Sept 1 – over $50 in savings
  • Danny Thompson Memorial Golf Tournament – Huey Lewis & The News Benefit Concert:  $10 off $35 lawn seats for up to 4 people – a $40 savings.  Must be purchased at SV Sports Center.

 The ACCESS SUN VALLEY CARD program is designed to boost sales for local businesses while helping raise funding for airline Minimum Revenue Guarantees (MRGs) and other air service development efforts.

 Sun Valley Resort has long been a key partner in air service support and funding. FSVA, along with Sun Valley Resort, is also actively involved in financially supporting the Sun Valley Express Boise-Sun Valley van shuttle service, in recognition that Boise is also an important air gateway for many visitors and residents.

Why are regular patrons ignored by businesses so often????
I'm still more than a little skeptical about what sort of noticeable short- or long-term success this "Access Sun Valley" card will ultimately have here, but it DOES make me wonder again why so FEW business in the Wood River Valley (and elsewhere, too, for that matter) DO reward customers who regularly patronize their establishment (s)!! Other than South Valley Pizza's punch card (where you get a free pizza after buying ten of them), and the free lunch special you get at any of the Atkinsons' (after you've bought ten of those), I can't think of another Valley-based business offhand that does reward its regular shoppers with either some kind of much-appreciated (and deserved) freebie, or else something that's at least SUBSTANTIALLY discounted there. Seems to me that ENCOURAGING further patronage at businesses that we DO regularly shop at by offering the very sort of freebies or discounts I mentioned a second ago might be a really great way for many more people in the Valley to regularly RALLY AROUND local businesses here.
