Blaine County School District Begins Parent and Student Evaluations of Teachers

As part of the Students Come First legislation passed last year in Idaho, the Blaine County School District will be conducting parent and student surveys of teachers. As per Idaho Code 33-514 (4) which states:

There shall be a minimum of one (1) written evaluation in each of the annual contract years of employment, the first portion of which shall be completed before February 1 of each year, and shall include input from parents and guardians of students as a factor.

The Blaine County School District will be surveying parents in advance of the February 1st deadline, in order to be in compliance with the new legislation. These surveys will be conducted in both electronic and paper formats.

Any student survey data currently being collected is non-evaluative, and is for the sole purpose of teacher reflection. Look for surveys at your parent/teacher conferences or contact the principal for more information.
