What: The Great Ketchum Tag Sale 2010

At a time when everyone is looking for a bargain, and almost everyone has things they would like to sell, but that the weather inhibits them from selling at an outdoor yard sale, the nexStage is opening its doors to anyone who wants to rent a space for the weekend, to sell their gently used goods under the familiar red roof of the nexStage. The event, starting Friday 19th March in the nexStage auditorium at 120 South Main Street in Ketchum and running through Sunday 21st March at 2 pm, is being billed as the Great Ketchum Tag Sale, the first winter community tag sale ever in downtown Ketchum.

The theatre will be hosting the event, providing a comfortable, indoor market atmosphere and allotting 8’ spaces to each participant for days of the sale. The nexStage’s nexBestFriends' volunteer group conceived the idea for this indoor tag sale during their efforts to clear out the back building of the theatre, which is packed with wonderful odds and ends which are too good to throw away but which are taking up much needed space. Making it a community event was a logical step, as there is enough room in the auditorium for at least 50 individual booths. The nexStage will be promoting The Great Ketchum Tag Sale with posters and small ads, so that people have the opportunity to sell their price-tagged goodies all weekend for just a space fee up front and a 10% donation of their total take for the weekend donated to the theatre. No worries about the March weather, security, parking issues or advertising.

“We all seem to be in the ‘downsizing’ mode, and this will be a perfect time for everyone to start their spring cleaning early”, said nexBestFriends Committee member, Gerri Pesch. “It’s a great opportunity for Blaine County residents to clean out their closets, drawers, garages and attics and make some cash, while helping support one of our town’s greatest community assets, the nexStage. We’ll have everything from snowboards to designer clothes for teens, tools, toys, even a ten-foot stuffed teddy bear…and all the other priceless treasures everyone brings to the sale”


Set up day is Friday 19th from 2 pm and the sale will run Saturday 20th 9-4pm and Sunday 21st 10-2 pm, with a special preview sale for participants and their invited friends on Friday evening from 5-7pm. Coffee, soft drinks and doughnuts will be available in the lobby throughout the event on Saturday and Sunday.
