| ONLINE RIDE-MATCHING INSTRUCTIONS
It’s easy and simple to offer a ride, find a ride, or even get an errand taken care of with the new Online Ride-Matching Service provided by SunValleyOnline and Wood River Rideshare. Follow these simple directions to get started:
To post a ride
1. Log on to SunValleyOnline. If you don’t have an account, create one here.
2. Go to the ride matching home page and click on Post Ad
3. Select how long your ride will be listed, under “Run Ad For”.
4. Fill in the “Title” of the ride. Your title should state the ride origin and destination, along with the frequency, like one-time, a particular date, weekdays, weekend, or a certain recurring day of the week.
5. Select the “Ride Match Category”, based on the type of ride and where you are going.
6. Under “Description”, put all the details about the ride you need or the ride you are offering. Include information like where you originate from, your route of travel, the times of your ride, and your flexibility with leaving early or late.
7. You can put in “Search Keywords” if you like to help people find your ride easier.
8. It is not necessary to put a “Price”, but you could list whether you are willing to split gas.
9. Fill in your “Email” address – this will not be shown to potential matches to your ride. If someone wants to contact you about your ride, it will all be done without the person seeing your email address. You can then decide whether or not to respond.
10. Finish by listing your “City”, “State” and “Zip Code”.

To find a ride
1. Go to the Online Ride-matching main page.
2. Select the Type of Ride for which you are looking.
3. Select the Destination.
4. Scroll through the listed rides to see if any will work for you.
Tips
1. Put as much detail as possible into your ride posting. This will increase the likelihood of finding a match.
2. Remember that Wood River Rideshare offers an Emergency Ride Home Program for those who carpool. This program pays you 100% of the taxi ride home in case of an emergency. For example, you carpool and then have to unexpectedly pick up your sick child from school. Just take a taxi home, and Wood River Rideshare will reimburse you for this ride. You must pre-register by emailing jason AT wrrs.org.
3. You are responsible for your own safety when it comes to sharing rides. We suggest meeting a potential carpool partner ahead of time at a public place to get to know them and make sure you are comfortable riding with this person. Requiring a copy of a driver’s license and proof of insurance are good ideas, as well.
